Toronto Restaurants: What Michelin Thinks & What’s New

Toronto's restaurant scene never really sits still. There is always somewhere new opening, a reservation suddenly becoming impossible to get, or a restaurant quietly becoming one of the city's best.

New + Notable

Bushido - Japanese Kaiseki - 10-course immersive dining experience inside Casa Loma

Opening October 23rd: One of Toronto's most ambitious new dining experiences, Bushido takes over four rooms inside Casa Loma for a progressive Kaiseki dinner. The 10-course experience moves guests from room to room throughout the evening, pairing traditional Japanese technique with one of the city's most dramatic settings.

Yakitori Momiji - Yakitori omakase - Yorkville

A new 15-course yakitori experience tucked away above Cumberland Street in Yorkville. Yakitori Momiji takes the precision and pacing of omakase and centres the entire experience around Japanese charcoal-grilled chicken, making it a very different addition to Toronto's already impressive Japanese fine-dining scene.

Shay Ristorante - Modern Italian - Rosedale

One of the city's newest openings, Shay brings modern Italian dining to Rosedale with handmade pasta, seasonal ingredients and an elegant dining room. The restaurant is led by Chef Justin Friedlich, formerly of Buca Yorkville, and opened its doors in October.

Shinji - Japanese steakhouse - Financial District

A modern Japanese steakhouse at 333 Bay Street combining Japanese Wagyu, Canadian prime beef, sushi, sashimi and seafood. The dining room is centred around an open grill, with a polished, contemporary feel that lands somewhere between a steakhouse and a high-end Japanese dining experience.

Bar Butcher - Steakhouse & elevated comfort food - Financial South Core

A polished new Bay Street restaurant from the team behind The Butcher Chef and Oliver’s Steakhouse. Bar Butcher pairs premium cuts with elevated comfort food, cocktails and a more relaxed bar-driven atmosphere, making it a slightly less formal take on the traditional steakhouse.

Bar ARDO - Sicilian - King East - Michelin Recommended

From the team behind ARDO, Bar ARDO is a more lively, cocktail-driven take on Sicilian dining, with small plates, handmade pastas, larger dishes meant for sharing and a late-night menu. It was also newly added to the Michelin Guide in 2026.

156 ONEFIVESIX - Contemporary Korean - Queen West - Michelin Recommended

Modern Korean dining on Queen West, with dishes designed around sharing, from bluefin tuna and sujebi pasta to Korean-style grilled meats and ssam. One of the newest additions to the Michelin Guide, the restaurant also received Michelin's 2026 Exceptional Cocktails Award.

Takja - Elevated Korean barbecue - Little Italy - Michelin Recommended

An upscale take on Korean barbecue, with grills built into the tables, premium meats, seafood and a Hansang menu designed as a full-table dining experience.
